BST Partners with IEAT, Signing MOU to Transform Waste Management at Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate Towards Sustainability

On July 10, Minister of Industry Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on "Closed-Loop Resource and Waste Management within the Map Ta Phut Industrial Complex." This milestone collaboration between the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) and 24 leading companies aims to drive the Circular Economy and Industrial Symbiosis, fostering sustainable resource management. The ceremony took place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, where Mr. Sumeth Tangprasert, Governor of IEAT, welcomed participants and co-signed the agreement. Representing Bangkok Synthetics Co., Ltd. (BST) and BST Elastomers Co., Ltd. (BSTE) at this significant signing was Managing Director Mr. Sunthorn Prasopchingchana, reaffirming the companies' commitment to maximizing resource efficiency and tangibly driving Thai industry toward sustainability.
Participating in this MOU reflects the roles of BST and BSTE as leaders driven by a Proactive & Agile corporate culture. Recognizing the importance of transitioning to a Circular Economy, the companies are ready to proactively co-establish a dedicated task force. This initiative will accelerate the recycling and reuse of unused materials among factories within the Map Ta Phut Industrial Complex, keeping pace with environmental changes. Furthermore, it reinforces their Collaborative value by joining forces with IEAT and 24 allied companies to exchange knowledge, experience, and deep insights. The collaboration also involves linking management systems with waste management operators outside the estate to build a resilient industrial ecosystem, achieving the most Effective outcomes in line with organizational goals. This MOU focuses on tangible success through the development of a waste database and a resource-matching system between factories, ensuring all waste materials are utilized efficiently and waste discharged into the environment is truly minimized.
